Dream was shot like a nineties TV show.
Boarding school
late teens, snappy uniforms. Overcast sky
Kind of awkward and uptight boy, played by a young Ben Stiller, and he loves this wild female friend, in a blonde bob and not too wild, but assertive. She knows he likes her, strings him along. She likes another boy who impresses her in soccer; after he wins a game he kneels by the road and yells something, can't remember, everyone cheers.
She goes after him and Ben Stiller is upset, mopes, finally moves on, kisses other girls, drops blonde completely.
Meanwhile, blonde is jealous, realizes she loves him, but the tables have turned. She fills in on the soccer team, assists a winning goal. She figures she's impressed him, since this was how she was impressed before. Looks in the stands but he avoids her gaze. She kneels at the road and everyone thinks it's a joke victory speech, but she yells "I'm done" and walks away, down the road toward a flat grassy horizon. I think this was shot in England. Ben is stricken.
The show ends to extended landscape shots with voiceover of Ben's bumbling apologies on her voicemail. Left uncertain.
